| Yay, one year down, three more to go for high school!
This is weird to say, but I think I might actually sort of miss going
to school everyday... Next year's bus rides will be so lonely. =( Oh
well, overall, pretty good year. Learned a lot, but exam wise, my most
recent lesson, is that when in the state of hoping you'll do good on an
exam after studying only one chapter, you will be doing terrible. At
least I will, hehe. Oh well, no need to look back, learn from the
errors and move on.
Summer is here! That means a lot of baseball and basketball practice
now. =) Sadly, that means possibly being forced to start SAT studying
too, bah. Oh well, I shall keep this entry short, hehe.
Have a great summer everyone! The BEST of luck to those who are leaving!

Thanks a bunch guys!

| Good Job to everyone in the Talent Show!
Well, we got out report cards back, and damn Alg 2/Trig to hell -_-
On another note, I didn't actually fail history! For those that don't
know, don't bother trying to find it, you don't really want to hear
what happened, hehe. Oh well, me GPA is improving.
Alrighty, homework time so I can play all through the weekend, have fun everyone!

| Ah, back from an amazing week at the Maldives =D
The first day was a little hectic. Dad's heart stopped beating for a
few seconds for no apparent reason on the plane, so we had to spend the
night at a hospital in Singapore. Disappointed I am that Singapore did
not sell any glowsticks -_-. Oh well, everything went well at the
hospital and we were set to fly to the Maldives the next day.
The Maldives!

Beautiful, huh?
We arrived at like 12AM, so we just went to sleep after getting to our
rooms. The next morning would be Don's and my first time windsurfing.

Laurant, our coach, teaching us how to windsurf =)

Clearly, practice is still needed, hehe.

One of the first few times I got up and moved a bit. The girl at the
bottom right is one of the ones from SAS (Mary the name is I think)
that could windsurf much better than us at that time. [Read down]
Needless to say, we weren't that good. If we got up on the board,
we
would not actually go anywhere and simply drift to shore. =( There were
also these two girls that came from SAS (Singapore American
School) that could windsurf a ton better than us, hehe. Eventually,
lots of practice pays off and we (Don and I) can do a 180 turn without
falling into the sea.

Now that's how you windsurf! [Pictures above taken a few days after first trying to windsurf]
Besides windsurfing, there was catermaraning (spelling?), snorkeling,
poolside things, beach volleyball and soccer, and a bunch of things. On
our way to the snorkel place, there were some HUGE waves hitting the
shores of other islands. Surfing on that would be fun fun fun in the
event that I got up on the surfboard and did not die from hitting the
rocks beneath, hehe. Hawaii's waves were not as terrifying, so they
were easier to surf ^^

Crazily high waves~

Don and me snorkeling, hehe
One thing that we missed out on for the first few days was the lunch
time events where we would win our gold medals =D However, waiting a
couple hours for the lunch time event to happen is wasteful, and thus
we have water aerobics and poolside dancin' before the event.

This was the ending of it where people would give each other massages,
haha. In case anyone is wondering what the Singapore American School
girls looked like, they're the ones after the instructor with the hat
and glasses- Mary and Kalli.

Dancin' in the sun! Took Don and me awhile to get used to the dance, haha.

This is just one of the events that occured during the lunch time
olympics. There was waterpolo before, but Don and I only got to play in
it for awhile cause we were late and did not want to disturb the game,
hehe =(

Gold medalists! (Except my mom was on the other team and only got silver, haha)

Sometimes we played water football if we decided to jump in the pool
early like we did on Saturday. Size plays a pretty big part in water
football as both/all players were brought down to the same speed, heh.
(This was before the olympics) [Damn upload limit thing, have to put it
on photobucket, sorry for the image size changing, hehe]
The Maldives trip was awesome. Life was laid back, surfing and all the
events were fun even though I was nailed in the face with a volleyball
during a beach volleyball tournament. (Damn, some of the employees
there can spike hard) The food was so good that I think I must've
gained 2 kilograms, haha. My skin has officially began flaking too =(
The island has these shows/events at 9:45PM everyday, and on Thursday
or Friday, there was this Marines vs Safari thing. There was a game
where some people would have to sing these songs. The twist is that the
microphones were on record, and most of the people were faking it and
whenever they made noise, it was like a whimper. Quite literally, I was
rolling around in my cushioned chair laughing. It was funny stuff. The
show was held at the club, so it started doing the usualy club stuff
after the show ended, and it was the perfect
time for glowsticks, but Don brought is cracked practice sticks, I
didn't bring my LEDs, and Singapore did not have ANY glowsticks for
sale -_- (Singapore's supposed to be like a glowstick haven too...) Tsk
tsk. At least I learned the 360 weave at the Maldives airport =P
Despite the burns, cuts from beach soccer, extra weight, and the last day not being too great, the trip was still a blast. Now, it is time for me to try and make up for some lost sleep as last night was spent at planes and airports.

Don and I enjoying our last chillax at the pool before dinner. We saw
the big dipper and the "triangle of life" that Andy, Debra, Jon,
Christine, Patrick, and me made up during the Danube river cruise.

Me unusually happy before boarding the speedboat to the airport.
*Edit* Oh, and did I mention that Jack Johnson, some of Norah Jones'
songs, and Island in the Sun by Weezer are excellent songs to listen to
when relaxing on the beach? Don's friend once said that Jack Johnson on
a beach will make your head like bob around and stuff. Well, that's
actually true. Good stuff, good stuff.
Hope everyone had a great spring break as well!
Have fun~

| Model Untied Nations = AWESOME Conferences to go to! BEIMUN was my
first official conference, and it was amazing. First off, we live in
suites! That's right baby, suites! A room with a king sized bed
(ironically, Sujay, the smallest one, slept on it), a room with two
singles, two TVs, a kitchen, dining room, and a living room! =D There
was no actual curfew, so basically we stayed up to 2 AM "working," hehe.
Thursday
This day was an actual work to 2 AM thing where Hansen and I had to
merge our resos and also write up our opening speeches. It was a fun
night though. We didn't actually start working until 10 PM cause we
went around to each others' rooms and hung out ^^ This was the hot pot
day. Evan, Sujay, Jacques, and I went to this hot pot place and ate a
pretty darn good dinner. "AHHH! SALT IN MY EYE!" -Evan. Was a fun
dinner.
Friday
Ah, lobbying. I learned the arts of stealing signatories and how to
redeem yourself after being rejected for a signatory from Hansen =D I
had to repeat the same speech for like 30 times ~_~ Oh well, got the
reso 30 signatures, so that's pretty good. We also did opening speeches
today, and apparently I did mine pretty well in front of the Haleys,
woot! We skipped the opening ceremony buffet and went to Sujay's home,
the Indian restaurant at the Lido hotel. Expensive and small portioned
but good curry, hehe
Saturday
Ah, our resolution was debated second, and it was the only one out of
the five that was passed on that day. 78 for, 21 against, and 17
abstaining or something, so it's a majority pass. Yeah! Took the floor
and spoke so it was a pretty big accomplishment as it was the first
time taking a floor for me =P We also watched Shaun of the Dead tonight
along with Mean Girls in our room, haha. Fun fun.
Sunday
The last day of BEIMUN =( Didn't speak much in debate as I was tired
from the last few nights and did not want to go back to school. Asked a
few points of information, took the floor to help a friend's reso (that
passed too), so not bad I guess. Bought meself a cookies and cream
milkshake from Baskin Robbins just before going to the airport. By this
time we were all depressed because it would be 8 months until our next conference.
That about wraps it up. I highly suggest people try out for MUN next year, it's great fun.
Have a great spring break everyone!
